Issue Theme: Purification – After he (Jesus) had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. (Hebrews 2:3)
News Link:    Linked to the end of Ramadan when Muslims are thinking of Purification.
Spiritual Summary:    Since Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit all human beings have struggled with sin. Purification in the Old Testament and Qur’an are a legalistic and iterative in nature throughout the day and year; repetition the way to please God. However, since God became man in Jesus Christ, dying on the cross He showed the way to total permanent purification: To become a new person, clean and pure in God’s spirit.
Results:
For the first time this month we turned on both mobile advertising and a telephone response number. Only a small number of responders from mobile actually downloaded the magazine, but 25 of them clicked on the ‘call us’ button. Calls came from as far afield as Libya, Saudi Arabia and Morocco. Many also did the standard thing in the Middle East to mean ‘please phone me back’ by leaving a missed call. To talk to these people we need funding to pay for the phone calls.
We also added an audio version of the magazine. Though the response to this was low, we anticipate using this material regularly in the new Internet radio station we hope to launch.
Advertising cost = €179 ($212) Cost per response = €0.02 Effective cost per download = €0.04
The cost was increased slightly this month due to increase in costs for mobile advertising. There is also a hidden part of this project, which represents costs of running the website platform upon which the magazine runs.

Issue Theme: Reconciliation – ‘All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation;’(2 Corinthians 5:18)

News Link: Linked to the need for reconciliation around the Arabic speaking world, continuing from the previous issue on forgiveness.

Results:

The graph below shows the number of ‘display’ advertisements (ephemeral adverts placed on third party websites) contrasted with ‘search’ advertisements (adverts shown in Google in response to someone typing in a keyword.

There have been eight issues this year so far for which we have statistics and we have seen a very significant change in the response pattern.

The most common search phrase for is ‘Living Waters’ which is the name of the magazine. We therefore conclude that the readers of the magazine are increasingly those who are searching for the magazine by name. Thus the significant reduction in number of adverts (now a 4% response rate) shows an increase in a returning audience.

Currently the advertising budget is €150/month ($212/month). There is also a significant hidden part of this project, which represents costs of running the website platform.

Continue reading »]]> Please, thank and praise The Lord, the past month has seen a massive use of one of our sites for the Ramadan initiative. The ebook and audio book promotion has been extremely successful with many downloads being delivered to many countries.

Despite spiritual and technical opposition the computers and all the associated equipment have performed very well, including periods of intense attacks.

The initiative has been so successful we must expect further opposition to this work, so please continue to pray, for the team in all that is done, that wise decisions are taken, and that the computers and associated equipment would continue to function well.

A future update will be given when we have analysed the data and identified exactly how well the service performed over the past month. This information will inform our decisions to further optimise the set up for future projects.

Give thanks, we are currently experiencing very heavy traffic on the web site with large volumes of text and audio books being downloaded, please pray that these are used well.

Pray that the servers, security systems, cooling systems and everything else that enables this Good News to be on the internet perform properly and securely.

Pray for the team operating the equipment, that we remember The Lord in all our decisions making the most of this high demand peak and the consequential rise in work load.

Issue Theme: Forgiveness – ‘forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who have sinned against us’ (Matthew 6:12)

News Link: Linked to the revolutions that are happening in the Arab world and where the peoples want vengeance against their leaders rather than forgiveness.

Spiritual Summary: In the Gospels the forgiveness of others sin towards us is evidence of our own repentance. We are called to be like Jesus, following his urging for forgiveness: His incarnation was to bring about our forgiveness from God.

Results:

Currently the number of responses is constrained by €150/month ($212/month) advertising budget, which only allows for a limited number of adverts per day and a limit of 2 weeks per month. An increase in budget would almost certainly significantly increase responses, downloads and new members. There is also a hidden part of this project, which represents costs of running the website platform upon which the magazine runs.
